Franco-German culture clash...
At times we really live up to our countries' stereotypes, don't we?

It's so hilarious. Even our close neighbours seem to live in a completely different world sometimes. It's funny that some things that are perfectly normal over here, are absolutely unthinkable some hundred kilometres away (and vice versa of course).

Everything I drew here happened in real life... more or less (I overdrew some things a little of course). Some things didn't take place during the school exchange, but later though.
I could have continued with the pictures forever. :3

APH-Fans might laugh now. But that were our real hair styles back then, I didn't make that up. A funny coincidence.

Here are some stories "behind the pictures".
Germans and bread... We have about a million different kinds of bread and rolls. But whatever kind you look at is probably "hard" and "black" compared to French baguettes' whitebread. For my French lessons I once wrote a work about a French military doctor who travelled through Germany with Napoleon's troops. Even 200 years ago the French made fun of our bread...
The scene with the steak was even stranger in RL. My exchange student's little sister (about 5 years old) looked at my steak and asked her mother "Maman, c'est quoi, ça?" (Mommy, what is that?) and she answered "Chut! C'est bien cuit. On mange ça comme ça eh Allemagne." (Psht! It's well done. People eat it like that in Germany). But I only thought "Nooo! That's neither well done, nor do we eat raw meat in Germany!".

*sigh* Just mention anything about the World Wars and you can make a German cry and apologize who was born about half a century after the war... My exchange student must have thought that I am nuts.
True thing! Anaïs got me a children's ticket (children = 0-11 years). Only God knows how she made anybody believe that I am only 11 (No! I am not THAT short.). And I felt bad all day to use the ticket because it was pretty obvious that I was older. ^^°
